Taxpayers to deliver over 30,000 signed petitions urging Gov. Wolf to support elimination of school property taxes on Tuesday
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Liberty Alliance (PLA), a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, will present over 30,000 signed petitions from Pennsylvania homeowners to Governor Wolf urging support for a plan to eliminate school property taxes.
Volunteers with PLA will hold a news conference in the state Capitol Rotunda with school property tax elimination advocates on Tuesday, October 23 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Speaking at the event will be PLA’s Ron Boltz, Jim Rodkey as well as Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks), Senator Mike Folmer (R-Lebanon/Dauphin/York), and Representative Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon).
“One taxpayer who loses their home due to ever-increasing property taxes is one too many,” Boltz said. “We want to send a clear message to the governor and the General Assembly that this issue is only going to get worse unless we have a concerted effort to truly take care of this issue once and for all.”
The event is open to the public. Media is encouraged to participate. For questions, please contact Dean at 717-821-5069 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
