Governor Tom Wolf, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to continue his mandatory shutdown of Pennsylvania.
Wolf has vetoed three separate bills sent to his desk that would help get Pennsylvanians back to work.
Governor Wolf vetoed Senate Bill 327 which would have given each county the authority to make their own decisions on when and how to open understanding that not all counties are in the same situation in PA.
Wolf did not care and vetoed Senate Bill 327.
Apparently, he favors his "restrictive red" and "intermediate yellow" hodge-podge of a map that is creating double standards all over the Commonwealth!
House Bill 2388 would have allowed car dealers, garden centers, salons, barbershops, messenger and agent services, animal grooming services and manufacturing operations to open up and get back to work.
Wolf vetoed House Bill 2388 as well.
Finally, House Bill 2412 would have allowed real estate sales and legal services to resume.
Do you think Wolf signed that one?
Not a chance.
He vetoed House Bill 2412 as well.
Heck, Tom Wolf even took to attacking Ben Roethlisberger for getting a haircut!
Millions of Pennsylvanians are watching their livelihoods go up in smoke and they are prohibited from doing a thing about it.
Yet Tom Wolf is refusing to lift a finger to help.
As businesses and counties themselves have been rebelling against Wolf's heavy-handed approach to this situation, Wolf has lashed out.
To PA counties that are re-opening in spite of the Governor's orders, Wolf called them "cowardly" and "selfish."
You want to know what is cowardly and selfish?
Robbing someone of the ability to feed their family and keep a roof over their heads!
Big-box stores and multi-national corporate giants will continue to roll on as "essential" while small Mom and Pop businesses, considered "non-essential," will remain closed. I wonder how many of them will ever re-open again.
Does it sound like a double standard?
That's because it is a double standard.
While some businesses and workers are able to start to get back to work, others in Pennsylvania are deliberately placed at a disadvantage.
We all have loved ones in nursing homes or family members that are vulnerable right now. Everyone appreciates the gravity of the COVID-19 pandemic, but so many of us can also appreciate the enormity of this crisis from the perspective of businesses and working-class people.
We need to get Pennsylvania back to work now!

We can protect lives and livelihoods at the same time. It is possible.
For many in our state, they can help their loved ones most when they themselves can put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.
If you yourself or a loved one have tried to get help from the State of Pennsylvania for unemployment, you know that the process is a complete mess right now with people across our state waiting weeks on end without a response from anyone about their unemployment request.
The solution clearly is not government.
The solution is for the government to get out of the way and give folks back the choice on whether they will go back to work.
I trust you to make decisions about your life much more than I trust the government.
Other states across the country are starting to re-open, even the Socialist Republic of Maryland is starting to re-open.
Yet, Tom Wolf still wants to keep Pennsylvania in lock down and reject the people he is supposed to represent.
Please forward this email to friends and family across Pennsylvania to let them know what Governor Wolf has done.
This is hurting working families and needs to stop.
Please sign your message to Governor Wolf demanding that he take action to Re-Open Pennsylvania immediately! rightvoice.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=dea38aebc4a35e593e1d445e1&id=c2a9515462&e=39352a2791
Big Government politicians would have you and I believe that we must give up our livelihoods and live in fear indefinitely as a result of COVID-19.
Our Founders envisioned a country where individuals, making decisions for themselves and their families, would know best how to run their lives.
Every one of us should do what we can to take care of one another and help the vulnerable in need, but we need to stop taking our marching orders from politicians who have made this crisis worse for everyone.

Pa. teachers to be paid in full despite school closure
www.pennlive.com
Pa. House is set to vote on Wednesday on an emergency school code bill that waives the 180-day school year mandate and among other things, guarantees school employees will be paid the same as they would have if the coronavirus emergency didn't happen.Go get unemployed like the rest of the people who had there work closed by the government order. It was not there fault either.
Makes me sick they make these decisions and then would sheriff your property and kick you out of your home over it!!!
Keep paying our taxes even though most of us aren’t working
I know people will not like what i have to say but its the truth. School tax will never go away, property taxes will continue to rise (homestead is useless) Roads will never be fixed right, our gas taxes in Penna are the highest of any state.Even when you pass away the state will take part of all your assets you leave your family members. (almost no state has this crazy tax) crime and homicides are rising like crazy in Penna. I could go on for ever. Voting democrat or republican will change nothing in this state. We are noted as the 5th most coprrupt state heading to number 1. This is not a state to raise a family in or have a business!!!! It makes me sad what this state turned into when it could of been a decent state.
School taxes should be stopped period. How long does it take a vote of the people to be enacted! Do it now or get out of government and let someone get elected that will get it done.
Damn it, I want a rebate check! The PSEA is the enemy of the people!
Taxes need to be restructured completely.
Should be on unemployment like everyone else
This year’s School Taxes should be reduced by number of days closed They are based on 180 days Share n send to all
End property taxes and I won’t give a crap wth they do.
Do we get a refund on our school taxes?
Why should they be paid and others arent?... morw BS Wolf crapola
Privatize schools and end the awful school tax.
So the teachers will be getting paid, and getting checks from the Federal Government as well? .........so the Taxpayers get screwed again!
Anyone that thinks Harrisburg or any union that functions in this state/commonwealth gives a damn about anything that the citizens have to say, is naive at best.
this needs to be stopped now.....freeloading must end....not on our dime
Absolute bull shit ! Im sick of these teachers unions destroying our state !
Not right at all, give there pay to nurses, there the ones who deserve it .
With the PA Teachers union there was never a chance they wouldn’t

Teachers voice support for Schwank bill to boost minimum pay
www.wfmz.com
Pennsylvania's educators converged on Harrisburg on Tuesday to voice their support for legislation to increase the minimum salary for teachers in the Keystone State.Teachers should make decent wages but it should never fall solely on homeowners shoulders. It has always been an unfair tax. We are held hostage by either paying or losing our homes. By what standard has this ever been fair maybe Russia. After forty-five years I am sick of paying. You are indebted till death and then your children get to takeover.
I think teachers should make good money but there is another way of looking at this picture. I know women who actually told us they didn’t like kids but ended up being a school teacher because of the perks that go along with it.
If you want FULL time pay---- work a FULL year !!!!
I think we could cut some of the waste with sports and stuff like that in favor of a good education at a fair price but remember, these people spend 6 hours a day with our kids. Good teachers are in demand and we need to give them a fair wage. If we pay a poor wage good people will just go elsewhere. Also it should be a more fair tax so everyone pays. No tax should take peoples homes.
Check what your school administrators earn and their perks plus the have principals and all the staff that goes with them. Why must they all try to out build the school district next to them and have million dollar sports complexes. Why do we have over 500 school districts we only have 67 counties. Each has how many administrators who all earn six figures I bet. You never own your home in Pennsylvania.
Because these politics are bought and owned by the school unions.

PA Property Tax Burden Among Nation's Worst, Study Says
patch.com
Pennsylvania has one of the worst property tax rates in the country, personal finance website WalletHub found.I don’t think this tax is fair to home owners while people who rent pay nothing. Good people are losing their homes and that’s wrong, my dad was one of them. His job closed he was 58 and no one would hire him. The system beat the -hit out of him
Well, the democrats will tell you that it is only fair that "you pay your fair share" on property, although you bought it initially with your earnings from hard work which were already subject to an income tax you paid on those earnings. Plus, every single item you buy to repair or maintain your home is subject to sales taxes. Too much? Something to think about in November.
Every year School tax keeps going up because of mismanagement in spending and salary greed by administrators and superintendents. Time to stop this Faris wheel of madness in abusive taxation.
Nothing will change they will continue to bleed senior citizens and young families

Public workshop discussion on school property tax elimination - Majority Policy Committee
policy.pasenategop.com
Senate Majority Policy Committee | February 12, 2020 | 1:00 p.m. | Marysville Lions Club | 102 Park Dr | Marysville, PA 17053 |ELIMINATE the tax and let the chips fall where they may. Personally. I won't be voting for any politician, liberal or conservative, who does not vote to ELIMINATE the crippling school property taxes.
I watched and listened to the nearly two hour discussion on school Property Tax elimination. There were many instances of dissembling and misinformation. But, the glaring omission was a detailed discussion of the numbers related to tax revenue and to the numbers related to school costs. Pensions for example are often presented as the major problem although measures have been taken to reduce the future costs. One gentlemen did inquire into school district debt recognizing that the actual numbers are important! The bottom line is how the State determines how much each school will receive and how School Boards determine to make up the difference. There was scant mention of exemptions, nor was the problem of gaming the taxbreaks mentioned - an elderly or low income person may receive a rebate or exemption while several adults are also living on the premises. There was significant confusion on the distinction between commercial property tax and homeowner property tax; it was mentioned that around 90% of the landlords were noncorporate! Seems to me that the rent for apartments are gouging and that all expenses are passed on to the renter - and it's a landlord's market! But, no one is speaking the truth about who pays what - there are just as many claims that renters pay more as that property owners pay more. I think the only solution is a property tax cap and to cut school budgets to reduce them strictly to teaching-learning. All other programs, including medical and mental health programs should be afforded by other means - families that want their children to participate in sports, bands, etc., should pay for it themselves. School budgets continue to rise and I seriously doubt it is due to teacher or staff salaries - I think it is due to security, sports programs and other extracurricular programs. Why anyone thinks that charter schools are more efficient should make a detailed, by the numbers, argument, I am doubtful. Property taxes in NJ are easily 4x PA's, and NY's at least 3x, however, the new tax adjustments will be sent out shortly, so we will find out if the reassessments that kick in now will be hurtful or not. I can acknowledge that any interpretation is biased, mine as well, so a more detailed discussion is necessary. The entire nation has a housing problem, it is broken and the real estate moguls are in charge. Vote responsibly!

Maybe I’m wrong...but I am sooooo amazed that more Pennsylvania taxpayers do not stand behind this organization!!! Taxpayers are constantly complaining about the property/school taxes!!!! It is an ongoing sore subject! So...why aren’t there more supporters of this group??? This group is fighting for ALL Pennsylvania taxpayers! Why R people like little shy mice, and when it comes to opening their mouths or stepping in to help...they have NOTHING to say! Shame on them! My Dad always said, “What isn’t worthwhile fighting for, isn’t worth having! The people complain, but just sit back and say nothing! So whenever the “quiet ones” complain excessively to everyone about the high (and higher) property taxes they have to pay each year, they need to stop and ask themselves, “What can I DO to help this cause, rather than just being a complainer year after year??? Unbelievable!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It just amazes me that we go out and vote and elect these lawmakers in Harrisburg to do right by the people in the state. We give them a great salary and pension which they decide how much they want. The school tax the inheritance tax that takes a portion of all your assets upon death roads full of pot holes crime is going up every year. I read somewhere we already have 22 homiceds in Phila and that not even Penna. This state is the 5th most corrupt state soon to be number1.
Keep fighting! Seniors should never have to pay taxes on their properties!!
A small increase in the general sales tax would facilitate the elimination of the unfair property tax. No one who has paid off their mortgage should have to pay taxes on "their" property. At least a sales tax is proportionate to what you purchase and is applied to everyone. Even when I was a renter, I was not a supporter of the property tax.
Politicians often say, in an election year, that they favor eliminating the unfair property tax but it never comes to pass!
We allready voted to get rid of them so much for your vote counts
Way to go Ron good job.!!!!!
Amazing we have to fight this long!!
Maybe because we believe it will never come to pass too much opposition to it’s passing

The word from very good sources is that Turzai is not re-running, and likely will not be running for governor as many of us have expected. Who he is replaced with will be of extreme importance.
I'm told that he was not gaining the support from his caucus that he thought he would have for a potential governor race. Part of that has been our recent efforts to put heat on OUR reps for continuing to vote for him for speaker. He has been a huge road block for property tax elimination.
In response to our pressure, some Reps have been demanding that Turzai change his stance or he won't get their support. Other reports say they really don't believe he's electable on a state-wide level, something I and others in our group(s) agree with.
IT IS IMPERATIVE that we begin contacting our local reps NOW to demand that Turzai is not replaced with another speaker who will be a road block for property tax elimination.
If we allow them to vote in another enemy of our cause, they will continue their same excuses. We need to make it clear that THEY will be held accountable for their vote, and we will accept no excuses.
Tell them we expect them to not accept any "deals" or "promises" of future consideration on our cause in return for their vote. We've been down that road before. We're not falling for that, nor will we accept that as an excuse for voting for anyone who has a clear track record of being opposed to elimination.
Tell your reps they need to judge any potential candidates on their past record, not some false future promise.
This is of utmost importance, and the future of our cause depends on it.

Pennsylvania facing ‘underlying structural imbalance,’ according to fiscal office report
www.thecentersquare.com
An “underlying structural imbalance” in Pennsylvania’s budget could have long-lasting ramifications for the state, particularly as its population continues to age, a new report suggests. You can always raise taxes. Ask Warren, Sanders, or any of that ilk. Besides, they will all tell you that that are far better at spending your money than you, who have done nothing but earn it.
Live within our means...balance the budget.
Shame on you Wolf
Drunken sailors spend their own money.

If i read this right the working age people 20 to 64 is going to decrease and the older population will increase? If this is so its because the younger people are starting to realize this is a corupt state and not one to raise a family in and the older people are stuck here because the state has drained their assets over years and they have no way of moving.I hate to say this but it seems like the truth
Just paving the way for Wolf's inevitable tax rate hikes. So many blind followers did not the foresight to see this coming.
